The first of many overdue updates!

Oh where to begin......so much has happened since I last updated our blog. Allie is now almost 6 1/2 months old! She is a beautiful blonde hair blue eyed baby and is the highlight of our lives and we are so blessed to have her in our family.

She has been developing so fast, Brad and I are always pointing out new things that she is doing. At her 4 month appointment she was 23 3/4 inches and 14 lbs 9 ounces. We filled out a short questionnaire on her development before the doctor came in and was told that developmentally she is around 6 1/2 months. When the doctor was cleaning out her ears she was screaming and reached up and grab his glasses off of his face, the doctor replied that most 4 month olds couldn't do that! So needless to say she keeps us on our toes.

Allie is now talking quite often and smiling constantly. We have been so lucky with how good of baby she has been. We can get her laughing pretty good now too, which is one of the best sounds I have ever heard! She is eating baby foods and foods off of our plates as well, we started her on rice cereal around 4 months, she now loves oatmeal right before bed and loves her fruits! We haven't fed her anything that she doesn't like so we are keeping our fingers crossed that that will continue.

She is lunging and reaching for everything in sight, she is defiantly a curious one. She is rolling with no problem and started to army crawl around 5 months and since then has mastered pushing herself backwards. I think that she might walk before she crawls, she loves standing up and if you hold both of her hands she will walk all around the house.

A week ago she started waking up every hour during the night screaming which is not like her at all, when she usually would wake up during the night she wouldn't scream at all. So after three nights of no sleep for the three of us we took her to the doctor. The morning of the doctor appointment she had gotten her first bottom tooth, the doctor proceeded to tell us that she had a double ear infection. The doctor said that she had only had it for a day or two so she should start feeling better within a couple of days of being on her medicine. She has now been on the amoxicillin for 5 days and since then has gotten her second tooth on the bottom. Poor thing is fighting a double ear infection, teething, and a cold that she can't get rid of all at the same time, and she still is a pretty happy baby!

She did succeed in rubbing a huge bald spot on the back of her head when she was younger, I mean this bald spot was almost from ear to ear. I am now happy to report that she is finally growing hair on the back of her head! Her hair on top of her head is pretty long now, we have to put it in a pony tail or a hair clip so her hair isn't in her eyes. She loves her baths and gets really excited when she hears water running, we can't wait for summer so we can take her swimming!

Here are some pictures from the last few months:
